La Magione d'Orcia, an eighteenth-century villa in the Florentine style, lies near Radicofani at the centre of the Val d'Orcia.
It stands on a hill with sweeping views, on the site of an early medieval village on the Via Francigena route, and was once a hunting lodge and a farm built for spring banquets and celebrations.
With 14 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms for up to 28 guests, it is a natural choice for large families, groups of friends and events in Tuscany.
The house is furnished as a private residence, with soberly elegant reception rooms, a piano, a billiard table and a fully equipped kitchen. For staying active there is a small gym, a yoga room and a table tennis area, and in the evening a sound system, TV and streaming keep everyone entertained.
Fireplaces, air conditioning and fans keep the rooms comfortable through the seasons.
Outside, parkland of cypress and holm oak surrounds the villa, and a large circular garden marks the entrance. A wide terrace looks over the valley, with a patio for breakfast, a solarium for an aperitif at sunset, a 6 x 12 metre pool, a hot tub, a volleyball court and a barbecue area with gazebo.
Hammocks, e-bikes and footpaths nearby make afternoons easy, and on clear nights the garden becomes a fine spot for stargazing. Massages and yoga or Tai Chi classes can be arranged.
In spring the air smells of broom and in summer of lime blossom. The villa runs on its own solar panels with battery storage, covering all of its electricity and hot water, and has two charging points for electric cars. This villa for large groups in Tuscany also offers parking on site and daily housekeeping.
