Villa Bergamotto

Villa Bergamotto is a newly built country house at Sampieri, near Scicli in south-eastern Sicily, set close to the old Fornace Penna brickworks.

With three bedrooms, three bathrooms and room for up to 6 guests, it is a lovely beach villa in Sicily for a family or two couples: surrounded by countryside, yet only 500 metres from a sandy beach.

The house takes its cue from the traditional rural homes of the area and is built in the local white Ragusa stone, which also lines some of the interior walls. Inside, the finishes and materials have been chosen with real care.

There are three double bedrooms, each with a shower room, one of them reached from outside, a modern kitchen with a dining area and a spacious lounge with TV. Colourful furnishings and a notable collection of artworks bring personality to the rooms.

Air conditioning, heating and Wi-Fi run throughout, along with three TVs, a washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven and a high chair for small children.

Outside, a large garden with a Mediterranean character surrounds the house. A big terrace serves as both solarium and outdoor dining room, next to a saltwater swimming pool with sun loungers, and there is a barbecue and free parking on site.

The position makes it easy to explore the baroque towns of the Val di Noto by car, as well as Marzamemi, the Vendicari reserve, Syracuse, Donnalucata and Marina di Ragusa.
