Villa Cascia

Villa Cascia began life as a country farm in the 1700s and stands just outside San Casciano dei Bagni, close to the village's thermal baths.

Restored with natural materials from the area and covering 350 m², it has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms for up to 14 guests, a comfortable fit for families or groups of friends looking for a farmhouse with private pool in Tuscany.

On the ground floor, a dining room with a table for 14 and a pellet fireplace opens onto the fully equipped kitchen, the garden and the pool terrace. There is also a lounge with books and satellite TV, a study, a laundry with washer and dryer and a cloakroom.

The ground-floor bedrooms are split into two separate sleeping areas, one of them entirely independent from the rest of the house: four doubles with en-suite shower rooms and a room with single beds.

Upstairs, a bright, panoramic lounge with a large fireplace, TV, PS4 and DVD player is the place to gather, flanked by two elegant doubles, one with bath and shower. A covered terrace on this floor overlooks the woods.

The house is surrounded on every side by gardens, shady corners, oaks, olives and fruit trees. The fenced 15 x 8 metre infinity pool has sunbeds, a pergola and a sandy strip that doubles as a sandpit for children or a beach for adults; after dark, lights and candles turn it into a setting for dinner or an aperitivo.

A wisteria pergola beside the kitchen shelters a table for eight, and a covered gazebo with sofas faces the pool. Two cottages complete the property, one with a wood-fired pizza oven, the other with a work area, a large smart TV, board games, a fireplace and a wine corner.

Nearby, a small restaurant can be reserved for guests only, where the chef cooks Tuscan recipes, adapts menus for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets and gives cooking lessons.

The village, with its supermarket and shops, is 2 km away. Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Civita di Bagnoregio and Castiglione del Lago are about 30 minutes by car, Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Orvieto around an hour, and Florence and Rome about an hour and a half.
