Villa Contessa

Villa Contessa is a former 16th-century convent near Sarteano, in the Tuscan countryside between the Val di Chiana and the Val d'Orcia.

Surrounded by 65 hectares of hills, it has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms for up to 15 guests, ideal for large families or groups who want a villa with private pool in Tuscany and plenty of room.

The stone house was renovated in 2021, pairing handcrafted furniture and a modern sense of colour with a few traditional pieces. Every bedroom has air conditioning, a TV and an en-suite bathroom finished in travertine, under beamed ceilings.

The ground floor has a living room with stone fireplace, smart TV and PlayStation 4, a kitchen with two dishwashers, two induction hobs, oven, microwave and Nespresso machine, a dining room with wine cellar, a small gym with Technogym equipment and an indoor pool with hydromassage.

A 90 m² covered veranda with a large dining table opens to the living room and the garden. Upstairs, a second living room with fireplace leads to three large king bedrooms and two smaller rooms, one queen and one twin; the top floor is a king suite with walk-in closet, bath and shower, and a sofa bed.

The guest house adds a step-free queen bedroom with shower room and a billiard room that can serve as a meeting room.

The 12 x 6 metre pool, 1.5 metres deep and open from 1 May to 15 October, is framed by oaks and cypresses. The garden also has a large gazebo with sofas, a smaller one with sunbeds, a barbecue, an old wood-fired oven, a century-old oak and a kitchen garden with herbs, vegetables and fruit trees.

Sarteano is 5 km away, Chiusi 12 km, Montepulciano 16 km, Pienza 27 km and Montalcino 43 km. Chiusi Scalo station is 14 km and Perugia airport 82 km.
