Villa la Santa

Villa la Santa is a carefully restored historic villa on a working wine and olive estate in the Chianti Classico area, in the countryside of San Casciano in Val di Pesa in Tuscany.

With five bedrooms, four bathrooms and room for up to 12 guests, it suits large families and groups of friends who want space, character and a private pool in the heart of Chianti.

The renovation has kept the original fabric of the house intact: oak beams, terracotta floors and rustic Tuscan furniture throughout.

The ground floor holds a big living room with fireplace, a kitchen, a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a shower room, as well as the former stable, where the old manger survives in a large hall able to host meetings or receptions for up to 50 people.

A wide stone staircase climbs to the first floor, with a second living room, a dining room, another kitchen and three bedrooms, each with its own adjoining bathroom, one of them with a bathtub. At the top of the house, up a wooden staircase, a spacious study can sleep two more in single beds.

Heating runs on an eco-friendly pellet boiler, and there is air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

A large garden wraps around the villa. The private seasonal pool measures 12 x 6 metres and is 1.40 metres deep, with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there is a pergola, a loggia, a covered dining area and a barbecue corner. A laundry room with washing machine opens off the garden, and parking is right beside the house.

The villa stands in the old hamlet of Fabbrica, next to the Church of Sant'Andrea and the estate's ageing cellars, surrounded by about 50 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and woods of oak, holm oak and cypress crossed by walking and cycling routes.

Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, with the nearest shops and supermarkets, is 7 km away; Florence and San Gimignano are about 35 km, Siena around 50 km and Pisa 85 km.
