Villa Malva

Villa Malva is a recently restored, single-storey villa near Ispica in south-east Sicily, set just back from a sandy beach. Four double bedrooms, each with its own shower room, accommodate up to 8 guests, making it a comfortable choice for families or two couples after a relaxed holiday built around sun and sea.

Everything sits on one level, which keeps the house easy to live in. At its heart is a spacious open-plan living room and kitchen, and there is a separate laundry room.

The rooms are well proportioned and tastefully furnished, with modern comforts including heat-pump air conditioning and heating, Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher and even a small wine cellar.

Outside, a neatly kept lawn wraps around the house. The terraces are large and partly shaded, and the swimming pool comes with its own sun deck and loungers. There is also an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, so meals naturally move outside. As a beach villa with pool in Sicily, it is hard to ask for a simpler setup.

With a car, the coast opens up: fishing villages such as Portopalo di Capo Passero, Marzamemi, Donnalucata and Sampieri are all within reach. So are the great baroque towns: Ispica itself, Ragusa Ibla, Scicli, Modica, Noto and Syracuse.
