Villa Rosmarino is a contemporary villa on the Maddalena peninsula near Siracusa, on one of the loveliest stretches of Sicily's eastern coast.

With four bedrooms, five bathrooms and room for 8 guests, it suits families or two couples sharing who want a sea-view villa in Sicily with an infinity pool and direct access to the water.

Built only recently, the house has spacious, refined interiors furnished with original designer pieces. Rooms are spread over two floors: a lounge, dining area and kitchen with a guest bathroom, a study, three double bedrooms each with its own bathroom, and a master bedroom whose en-suite has both a tub and a shower.

There is also a piano, and practical comforts include heating and air conditioning throughout, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, a dryer and a dishwasher.

Outside, the infinity pool and generous terraces look straight out over the Bay of Syracuse, with space to eat outdoors and a barbecue. Private access leads directly down to the sea and the rocks below.

The baroque towns of the Noto Valley are only a few kilometres away by car, as are the nature reserves of Vendicari, Pantalica and Cassibile. Mount Etna and Taormina make rewarding day trips further afield.
