Villa Sernesi is a historic manor house in the Chianti hills at Barberino Tavarnelle, set on a ridge above valleys steeped in history. With seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and room for up to 14 guests, it is a superb choice for extended families or friends wanting a historic villa with pool in Chianti.
The house has a long story. It belonged to the Sernigi, wealthy merchants who supported major painters in the fifteenth century, then passed to the Naldini del Riccio family, who made it a country residence in the eighteenth century.
The Corti family bought it at the end of the 1950s and restored it, preserving the architecture while strengthening the bond between the building and the Tuscan landscape.
Today it offers air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, a sound system and a well-equipped kitchen, with daily housekeeping, a high chair and a welcome for pets.
The gardens are scattered with furnished seating areas, and a large stone terrace has an arbour-covered dining space for long meals outdoors. The fenced pool measures 15 by 7 metres, 1.10 to 1.20 metres deep, with a gazebo, sun beds, a changing room and a heated jacuzzi for five.
It makes an ideal base for getting to know Tuscany.
