Villa Badessa

Villa Badessa is set among vineyards and olive groves at San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the Chianti countryside between Florence and Siena.

With six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and room for up to 15 guests, it is a generous villa with a private pool in Tuscany for large families or groups of friends, and pets are welcome too.

The house is well kept and furnished in a classic Italian style, elegant without being formal.

A courtyard surrounds the villa, and the first thing you notice on arrival is the garden: a traditional Tuscan layout of stone walls and flower beds, with a vegetable patch and fruit trees, all clearly looked after with great care.

Inside there is air conditioning, central heating, a fireplace, Wi-Fi, a sound system and a well-equipped kitchen, along with board games, a high chair and daily housekeeping.

The pool, finished in mosaic, lies on the terrace just below the villa and enjoys an open view over the Tuscan hills, at its best when the sun goes down on summer evenings. A heated hydromassage pool is attached to the main pool.

Between the house and the pool, a wellness area has been built partly underground, so it stays cool even in the heat of summer. Its gym opens straight onto the pool deck, so you can train with the view in front of you, and there is a changing room with bathroom and shower.

Outdoor dining space and a barbecue make it easy to eat outside.

Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are all close by, so the villa works well as a base for exploring Tuscany at any time of year.
