Villa dell'Ortensia is a fully renovated 18th-century country house in the hills 6 km from the historic centre of Lucca, with a lovely view over the city. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms sleep up to seven guests, so it suits a family or a group of friends looking for a peaceful villa with private pool near Lucca.

The 220 m² house is spread over three floors and furnished in the traditional style of the Lucca countryside, with distinctive artworks chosen by the owner, an art dealer from nearby Pietrasanta. The ground floor has the lounge with sofas and a dining table, the kitchen and a bathroom.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms and a twin room, decorated with striking murals, along with a large bathroom and a second, smaller one. In another part of the house you will find the fourth bedroom with its own bathroom, and the laundry area.

The garden is full of inviting corners: a bench under an olive tree facing the view, antique tables for breakfast outdoors, a table tennis table among the olives and a barbecue. The pool, lit by 18th-century lampposts, has deck chairs and sun loungers.

The villa, pool and garden are for your exclusive use; the owner lives discreetly in the annex, is often away on business and shares the entrance gate.

The villa is well placed for touring Tuscany: Pisa is 20 km away, Versilia 25 km, Florence 60 km and Siena 120 km. The final 600 metres are an uphill dirt road with a few bends, easy once you have driven it, and a car is needed for restaurants and shops. Heating and pets are possible on request.
