Villa Giacinta is a 400-square-metre Cycladic house at Kanalia on Mykonos, built for privacy and for groups who like to be together without being on top of one another.
It sleeps up to 16 guests in six bedrooms with four bathrooms, which makes it a strong option for large families or friends sharing a villa with sea views on Mykonos.
The architecture follows island tradition: stone facades, whitewashed walls, flat roofs and cube-shaped volumes stacked on the hillside. Inside, white walls are warmed by rustic furniture, beamed ceilings and touches of colour.
The six bedrooms are split across two levels, and nearly all of them open straight onto a balcony looking over either the sea or the pool. A fully equipped kitchen suits guests who enjoy cooking, and a private chef can be arranged for those who would rather not.
Air conditioning, wi-fi, a TV and a fireplace complete the picture.
The outdoor spaces step down with the terrain, mirroring the layout of the house. There are shaded seating corners, a pergola for slow breakfasts, an outdoor dining area and a private pool lined with sun loungers. A barbecue stands ready for evenings of grilled fish, meat or seafood after dark.
The real draw is the view. The sea opens out below the villa and stretches to Mykonos Town, whose cafes, restaurants and clubs light up the coastline once the sun goes down, close enough to join in and far enough to enjoy from your own terrace.
