Villa Icaro is a five-bedroom villa at Kanalia on Mykonos, mixing classic Cycladic architecture with a polished, modern finish. Five bathrooms and room for up to ten guests make it a comfortable villa with an infinity pool on Mykonos for families and groups of friends.
From outside, it is pure island style: whitewashed cube-shaped volumes with flat roofs, grey shutters and stretches of stone wall that add a rustic edge. Inside, the mood shifts to something more eclectic, with elegant furnishings, quality materials and a slightly aristocratic air.
The open-plan kitchen has a breakfast bar with high stools and looks out over the pool and the sea, an easy place for the first coffee of the day. The living room, with ceiling fans and satellite TV, offers shade from the midday sun while large glass doors keep the view in sight.
Air conditioning, wi-fi, a sound system and a safe are all provided. A separate guest house, with its own views of the sea and pool, gives extra privacy to part of the group.
The Aegean can be seen from almost every corner of the property. Outside, a tiled terrace leads to a wooden-decked pool area around the infinity pool.
A pool bar with a portable gas barbecue sits under a pergola for long lunches and evening drinks, and on the upper level a heated Jacuzzi with seats for six is the natural place to end the day. There is free parking on site.
