Villa Impruneta

Villa Impruneta is a 16th-century Tuscan farmhouse, a casa colonica, standing on a hilltop at Impruneta, about 8 miles from Florence.

Five bedrooms and five bathrooms sleep up to ten guests, and the quiet of the surrounding hills makes it a relaxed villa near Florence with a private pool for families and groups of friends.

The latest renovation kept the original shape and structure of the house intact, and its character shows in exposed brick arches, vaulted ceilings and original terracotta floors. The L-shaped living room has deep sofas, a fireplace and a modern dining table for six, while a formal dining room seats ten.

The kitchen, with four-burner gas hob, electric oven and dishwasher, looks through glass panels into the living area. The real gathering place is the large, bright games room, with a billiard table, a piano and several seating areas, whose arched French doors open onto the loggia and pergola.

On the ground floor, a queen suite with shower room has a small kitchenette and its own door to the garden. Upstairs are four more bedrooms, each of which can be made up as a double or twin: one with a large bathroom with tub, one with a Jacuzzi tub, and two with shower rooms.

Outside, the loggia holds a stone table for 12, perfect for meals in the open air. There is a sunbathing area and several lounging spots on a well-kept lawn, and the Tuscan-tiled private pool measures 6 by 12 metres. The owners live on site in separate quarters.

The road up to the villa is steep, so a small car is recommended. Florence airport is about 23 minutes away, the nearest town with services 7 minutes, and Florence itself around 17 minutes.
