Villa Molino is a restored 13th-century water mill in a remote valley of the Umbrian countryside near Perugia, set along the Gorga Nera stream within a large working farm estate.
With two en-suite bedrooms, three bathrooms in all and space for 2 guests, it is made for couples who want genuine seclusion and a holiday shaped by nature.
The restoration followed the mill's original footprint, rebuilding the ruins to a very high standard. Inside, bright décor is paired with well-made Italian furniture, and the most unusual space lies below ground: a private jacuzzi set within the mill's ancient vault.
There is also a sauna, air conditioning, central heating, Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, microwave and fridge, a laundry service and daily housekeeping.
Outdoors, a private pool and a hot tub look over the river, and mornings begin to the sound of running water with an espresso in the sun. Walks lead out from the house to natural pools along the stream.
The setting is wild and isolated, which is exactly its appeal. Access is along a long white gravel road that is steep in places and not suitable for sports cars or other low vehicles, so a car with good ground clearance is the sensible choice for this villa with private pool in Umbria.
