Todi and Orvieto are nearby, Siena, Arezzo, Assisi and Gubbio work well for a day out, and Florence and Rome can be reached by car. Hill towns such as Cortona, Preggio with its annual classical music festival, and Montone, home to an international film festival, add to the appeal.
