Villa Torre

Villa Torre is a three-bedroom villa on a private country estate outside Perugia, in the green heart of Umbria. With three bathrooms and room for up to eight guests, it's well suited to couples travelling together or a family wanting peace and space.

Each bedroom is decorated in warm colours, with oversized beds dressed in soft cotton linen. The living room is elegant and has a fireplace for cool evenings, and the house has air conditioning, central heating, Wi-Fi and TV, with daily housekeeping included. A high chair is available for little ones.

The setting is the real draw. Below the villa lies a wooded valley, and both the infinity pool and the roof terrace take in the full sweep of it. A barbecue makes it easy to eat outside.

Villa Torre belongs to Tenuta Umbra, a family-owned estate of woods, olive groves, valleys, lakes and rivers. Access is via 3 km of gravel road: it's in good condition but steep in places, so a standard car generally copes fine, though a 4x4 makes the drive more comfortable and very low cars are not suitable.

Perugia is 20 minutes away, with opera and the Umbria Jazz and Eurochocolate festivals; Todi and Orvieto are nearby, Florence and Rome are within driving distance, and the hill towns of Cortona, Preggio and Montone, known for their music and film festivals, are close at hand.

For a villa with infinity pool in Umbria, it's a rare spot.
